A scalable plant cell culture platform

We develop a biotechnology platform based on plant cell culture to produce high-value bioactive compounds under controlled conditions.

Our approach uses cell lines derived from elite clones of Peumus boldus, selected for their high boldine content. These cells are cultivated in liquid media, enabling controlled growth and reproducible production of target compounds.

Controlled and reproducible production

Unlike traditional plant extraction, our system operates independently from environmental variability. By controlling key parameters such as culture media composition, inoculum density, aeration, and metabolic elicitation, we optimize both biomass growth and boldine accumulation.

This results in:

  • Consistent quality across batches

  • High traceability

  • Reliable production conditions

Designed for scalability

Our process is being validated in pilot-scale systems (1–5 L bioreactors), allowing us to demonstrate scalability and reproducibility in environments closer to industrial conditions.

This is a key step toward enabling large-scale production of plant-derived bioactive ingredients without relying on wild harvesting.

Advanced analytical validation

We apply standardized extraction and analytical methods (HPLC and LC-MS) to quantify boldine and ensure product consistency and quality.

Our technology is not limited to a single compound.

We are building a scalable platform that can be extended to other high-value bioactive molecules from native or underutilized plant species, enabling a new generation of sustainable ingredients for the cosmetics and nutraceutical industries.
